Like every year, the waves of Santa Severa Castle meet a series of spectacular and engaging activities such as the Surf School, the Sup Sprint Race, the SurfSkate contest, the Shaping Workshop, the Bikini Fashion Show, the Open Cinema, and a food & beverage area with various food trucks open from morning until late at night.
This is SURF EXPO, a glamorous festival among the most well-known and long-running in Italy, dedicated to the world of surfing and more. A constantly bustling seaside village with colorful stands selling a variety of products, including beachwear, eyewear, surfboards & fins, accessories , surf shops, and much more.
There were many events over the three days: the presence of high-ranking surf instructors, stands, parallel activities for all ages, live music and DJ sets that attracted young generations from all the surrounding towns, coastal and otherwise, who came to spend time together, share and share their passion for the sea, waves, surfing, music and fun until late at night.
Guests of honor were Alessandro Marciano, professional surfer and essentially the patron of the event, and Cecilia Pampinella, while the music and DJ set were curated by Dimensione Suono Roma with DJ Arturo Jkay Arturi, Matteo Marani, and Freaky Discord.
The origins of surf style
Beginning in 1960, surfing, arriving in California, took shape as a surf style trend. In the 1970s, surfing encountered the hippie movement, introducing trippy prints and bright colors. By 1980, it was becoming clear that companies had successfully marketed the surf counterculture.
Surf style as style and fashion
The world of surfers is a special one, one that loves freedom and adventure, comfort , color , joy and above all the sea.
Surfing means freedom and that's why when it comes to choosing the ideal garments to adopt this style, fluidity of fabrics , comfort and colors are a must .
Let's go with fresh, sporty and casual looks with an exotic and marine touch that offer the sensation of being just a stone's throw from the ocean, ready to ride the wave in style .
Forgetting everything rigid or tight, casual is synonymous with fluidity, comfort and movement, such as wide-legged trousers , midi skirts with soft pleats and long colorful dresses .
The skirt can be mini for younger girls or maxi for older women who want to cover their legs and aren't comfortable in shorts . The fit in both cases is loose and roomy.
The tones are neutral, while the colors are tropical with nature-inspired prints. Embracing colors like ivory, beige, coral, sage green, terracotta, and pale blue , they pair well with sun-kissed skin and evoke a relaxed, coastal vibe.
When it comes to accessories , you can go wild: shell necklaces, flower bracelets, and pineapple-shaped sunglasses are a must, as they define the true Hawaiian look . As for footwear , why not even go barefoot?
You might not know: Jennifer Aniston also uses this style to make her looks fresh and youthful. She pairs it with minimal, casual, and evening white styles .
